Some events have been added for next year. If anyone else has an event they wish to include please let me know !

Walter Eggimman confirms F1J will be flown at the Eurofly event on 26&27 October 2013.

The lovely trophy is almost complete, superb woodwork by Mick Lester and the engraved metal plates are scheduled to be complete this week. I will post a photo soon.

The trophy is complete !! really pleased with it so I have uploaded a picture to show it off. It even comes with its own custom made case

Looks like a date change for the Southern Gala to 07.09.13.

All qualifying events published in February ffn today.

After a lovely, calm, spring like weekend in the UK and having spoken to various people keen to fly 1/2a in the Euro challenge I have decided to include all 1/2a entries into the results as well. 1/2a and F1J being a combined event at all the UK events.

Competitors can now count upto 3 events from their home country towards their 5 best events overall.

The first event was completed last weekend at the The London Gala on Salisbury Plain. Weather was dry, but cold (8 deg C) and quite breezy in the afternoon (upto 18mph gusts). Bernard Aslett is the early leader beating several F1J's with his 1/2a model - well done !

Free flight nationals - lovely 3 days of weather, just a bit breezy for F1J day. A bit of drama at flyoff time !

Just got back from Moncontour in France from the World Cup events prior to the World Champs, great weather and some excellent flying from some of the best in the world getting their eye in ready for the champs. The F1J event went to a 3 way flyoff on a breezy day with Tom Oxager from Denmark winning, with Peter Watson 2nd and Simon Dixon 3rd. UK Southern Gala is next 07.09.13.

UK Southern Gala was yesterday, quite calm and sunny with just a brief shower of rain. We were lucky there were some big dark clouds during the afternoon which we missed. 2 way flyoff was won by Mick Lester, Simon Dixon was 2nd. Midland Gala is next then the Eurofly - could well be a close finish !

UK Midland Gala was at North Luffenham. Weather was breezy but mild. Due to wind direction a 2 minute flight was very close to or in 2 sets of trees and a 2.30 minute flight for the other classes was right on them. Peter Watson's F1J is still at the top of one of them as of 28.10.13. This years league was a 3 horse race between Dixon, Watson and Lester - the winner of this event would become the champion. As none of the top 3 were venturing to Switzerland for the last event the trophy was presented to Mick Lester, with Peter Watson 2nd and Simon Dixon 3rd.
Sadly no entries in F1J at the Eurofly.........Bummer
